Apartment Uva is a simply splendid renovated two bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Olhao with fantastic outside space.
Nestled in the small Moroccan style alleyways, this attractive apartment is close to everything. Being the only residential property in the building, the apartment is situated on the 2nd floor above a Beauticians.
From the main pedestrian shopping street a small dead end alley leads to the front door of the building in which Apartment Uva is located.
Large easy to climb steps lead to the first floor where there is a beauticians and hair dressers. The steps lead again to the second floor where you will find the solid wooden front door to our City centre 2 bedroom apartment. On each floor has timed lights to give you plenty of light whilst climbing the stairs.
The front door opens into a small hallway off which leads the living room kitchen, bedroom and bathroom as well as steps to the top floor.
The living space in our centrally located 2 bedroom apartment is very light, spacious and airy. The light is from to wonderful antique style french windows that open out on to the small ornate balconies that run the length and side of the 2 bedroom apartment. The windows look down on to the traditionally cobbled pedestrian shopping street below. The windows are double glazed so can keep out to hustle and bustle of the street below out or open the windows and allow the wonderful day to day activities of the local people waft up to the 2 bedroom apartment reminding you of the wonderful place you chose for your holiday.
A large rounded wall dividing the kitchen from the living space gives a touch of warmth and grace to the room and the pained walls in 2 tone colours make the room feel homely and elegant at the same time.
A natural sea side theme works throughout the room with large rattan sofa and arm chairs with huge white sumptuous canvas cushions offering a great and comfortable to place to sit and enjoy the room. Light laminate flooring offers a clean solution to the floor and is very in keeping with the natural colourings of the room.
Between the french windows sitting on a wooden unit is a large flat screen smart television offering a selection of European channels. The WIFI unit is also located here and give WIFI throughout the 2 bedroom apartment.
An efficient air conditioning unit is installed to offer cool air to the living area in the summer months but also cosy warmth in the cooler winter months, so a great holiday base any time of the year.
To the right of the living space is a charming large wooden table and four wooden white painted chairs, a great place to sit and enjoy family and friends dining from all the superb local produce found at the daily markets of Olhao.
The walls are decorated with sea theme pictures and the room is furnished with wonderful light wooden or painted furniture. The living room in this fabulous 2 bedroom apartment really allows you to be in the centre of Olhao and to enjoy the local and authentic feel of the wonderful old fishing Town of Olhao.
The kitchen in our City centre 2 bedroom apartment is to the left as you enter the apartment form the front door. Along one wall is a bank of kitchen units both floor level and eye level. Inside you will find a huge selection of plates, bowls, various crockery, coffee cups, mugs and much more for your use. We have provided a good selections of cooking utensils, pots, and and serving dishes.
The kitchen is equipped with plenty of white goods to include a washing machine, dishwasher and a full size fridge freezer. We have also thought of some smaller machines to include a capsule coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave.
An electric hob and oven is set into the kitchen units. Overhead is an extractor fan and at the end of the kitchen is a door that leads onto the balconies.
Completely tiled in traditionally patterned ceramic tiles an plain whit tiles manes the kitchen is exceptionally functional and easy to clean.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Immediately to the right as you enter Apartment Uva as a single bathroom. A full size bath adds a touch of luxury and comfort with an over head shower powerful rainforest protected with a glass screen. An unusual blue glass square basin is set into a vanity unit and the chrome tap mixer offers hot and cold water. Under the sink is plenty fo storage for toiletries and cosmetics and her you will find a hairdryer for your use.
Above the basin is a large mirror and shelf. The bathroom also has a toilet and towels rails and is decorated with white and dark blue patterned tiles giving a modern but traditional feel to the room.
Next to the bathroom is the twin bedroom. A lovely spacious room with 2 single beds divided by a bedside unit painted in white with a lamp. A fantastic dark round rattan chairs adds a bit of cheer to the bedroom and a white chest of drawers provides storage. All very much in a nautical theme.
Wonderful french windows with shutters give a wealth of natural light and fresh air for those who prefer the natural effect. Although the bedroom also has a very efficient air conditioning unit that can provide both cool in the summer months and warmth in the slightly cooler winter nights.
Outside of the windows is the balcony with ornate wrought iron decorated rails. this window looks down on the small quiet street that leads only to the front door of the building of Apartment Uva.
The beds are made with crisp fresh white laundered linen and we provide both bath and hand towels along with a beach towel.
To the left of the front door of our simply superb 2 bedroom apartment is an enclosed stair case leading to the second floor. At the top of the steps a door leads into the master bedroom. A beautiful large bedroom with plenty of space and a large super king size bed dominates the room. Made up with crips white freshly laundered linen and decorated with pleasantly patterned cushions it is warm and inviting.
Each side of the bed is white painted and rattan bedside units each with a bedside lamp. At the bottom of the bed is a dark rattan ottoman and great little storage place!
A dark wooden typically antique Portuguese chest of drawers provides a pave for cosmetics and clothes. A window with shutters looks out onto the private lower terrace of Apartment Uva. The windows have the option of shutters for those who like a really nice dark room at night.
The master bedroom in our 2 bedroom apartment has the luxury of an ensuite bathroom. A door leads from the bedroom into a bathroom equipped with a large corner shower cubicle with a great and large shower head. To the right is a toilet and to the left a large orange glass basin set into a white vanity unit with plenty of peace for storing cosmetics and toiletries. Here you will find a hairdryer for your use.
Above the unusual basin is a large mirror with its own light, perfect for a bathroom. Again traditional yellow and white tiles give a good clean look to the room.
Our glorious 2 bedroom apartment has the fantastic choice of 2 roof terraces. To the left of the door for the master bedroom is another door that leads on to the first terrace.
This terrace is huge and is equipped with a large outdoor dining table chairs. You will also find a proper traditional brick built BBQ, without a doubt by far the best way to BBQ. This is an absolutely perfect way to cook the fresh fish you van buy at the daily fish market and you will be living like a local in no time.
As it can get more than very hot in the summer months we have provided and an easy to use sliding shade that shades the table form the hot Algarve sun meaning the terrace can be used all times of the day. This terrace give simply magnificent views of the streets below and across the lower rooftops fo the Town.
Just by the terrace entrance is set of steps that lead up to another terrace and here the views are simply spectacular. It is a wonderfully surprising private spot but gives you such interesting and stunning 360 views. Being so high the vistas takes in a huge part of the coast and sea and from many different angles. Originally built for the wives of the fishermen to watch their husbands sail home safe this lookout is particularly high! Maybe this was once the home of a richer fisherman to be able to obtain such a good view?
We have placed 4 sun loungers and a small coffee table on the top terrace and also a sliding shade. This way you can enjoy this terrace all day long.
At Apartment Uva our amazing 2 bedroom Town centre apartment with sea views you are a 5 minute walk to the boats that takes you to the island beaches and 2 minute walk from the municipal daily markets which sell freshly caught fish from the flotilla of fishing boats that still work out of one of the biggest fishing harbours in Portugal. Then some local produce to go with your fish from the fruit and vegetable market and local bakeries. The markets are surrounded by coffee shops, making it a great people watching place to be.

Booking your Holiday
To secure your holiday home with us, we ask for a deposit payment of 20% of the holiday price within 24 hours of the booking. As soon as that payment is made we will send an e mail asking for your full details and travel details.
30 days before your holiday starts we will send you a reminder e mail asking for the final payment for your holiday home.
Marslgarve LDA operates a Breakages insurance scheme for any accidental damages and breakages during your stay with us.
The non-refundable Damage Protection Fee of €10 per guest protects you from being charged for accidental property damage that may occur during your stay with us. Cover is up to the value of €500. All we ask is that you treat our homes with respect and should any accidental damage occur you inform us immediately by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Tab 1 Euro bank details, this is for you to be able to make a bank transfer. This is not automated. Please use the bank details given within your bank account to make the transfer and send a confirmation slip giving the booking reference

We set the arrival time at your holiday home to be any time after 1600. This is to allow us time to prepare the holiday home for you. We are extremely flexible in that we will try and prepare the holiday home to coincide with your flight arrival time. But we can not guarantee this will happen. We are also happy to allow you leave baggage at the holiday home whilst the property is being prepared allowing you to get the most out of your holiday.
We ask that you carefully read the holiday home manual we will send you before the start of your holiday, as this contains all the contact information of the Manager who will be meeting you and looking after you during your holiday.
Our Manager will be expecting a telephone call from you on arrival day. The Manager will only attend the property after that phone call in readiness to meet you. We do not have a reception and each guest is met personally. If we have more than one client at once arriving we will let you know and ask that maybe you give us a little time. Maybe pop for a coffee and we can call you when we are ready to meet you. Our Manager will like to spend some time with you explaining how appliances work in the holiday home and let you know about the local area and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
We set the departure time at 1000. We ask for your departure details or plans once you leave us. This way we can schedule our holiday home preparation for the next guest just like we did for you. If we can offer a later stay during the winter months we will try and accommodate you. In the Summer months due to the high volume of guests we have to strictly adhere to the 1000 departure time at the latest.
Our "All important" Welcome Book
Before the start of your holiday we will send you our online Guest Welcome Book which is packed with everything you need to know about your holiday Home and the local area.
The book gives you all of the meeting arrangements, directions and how to get the keys.
We have tried to give you a real insight and help you to plan your holiday before you even arrive.
Our online Guest book is compatible with smart phones and tablets meaning you can take the guest book with you where ever you go to maximise your holiday experience.
During your holiday if you find places not in the book you would like to recommend to future guests please do let us know and we would love to add them to our book. The idea is to offer a great book that guests find useful.
Hampers and Mid Stay Cleans
Our properties are cleaned to an excellent standard and all items of any previous guest are removed. This includes all cooking items or hygiene products. This is to comply with Rental Licence and Covid rules for Portugal. As a self catering property we value your privacy and as such do not offer any cleaning service during your stay unless you request the extra paid service with us.
To provide the best service for our guests we do provide hand soap and a toilet roll per bathroom. The tap water in all of our properties is fit for human consumption.
We offer a selection of hampers at an extra fee and can be seen and chosen during or after the booking process.
Children and Babies
We can hire a variety of items for your holiday home. Please book any items your require during the booking process.
We have an arrangement with a superb local Bike Hire Company and can arrange for bicycles to be delivered to your holiday home either before your holiday starts or during you holiday. We can also arrange for the bikes to be collected. Please click on the link below choose your bikes and accessories, let us know via e mail and we will get it all booked for you.
We can take the stress out of car hire for you by booking in advance for you. We have chosen a small local Company to supply our hire cars. They will be at the Airport to meet you personally rather than you having to find a shuttle bus to the larger hire car Companies or waiting in huge queues with a horrible and impersonal service.
We can also arrange hire of scooters for you. They can be delivered at your holiday home and collects after your holiday is over.

We use a fantastic local Company, Sunline Transfers. The Company has built a super reliable and excellent Airport transfer service and we are proud to be connected with them.
Please ask for a quote and we will arrange the transfers via our Company login to their site. This means there will be no waiting around at the Airport as the driver will be in Arrivals waiting for you. There will be no trying the explain the location of your holiday home as the driver will already know where to go. The driver will even call our Managers in advance for you so they can be at the holiday home ready to meet you.

Apartment UVA is a spacious, clean, light, airy, comfortable and well appointed holiday home situated in a wonderful location, close to markets, Ria Formosa, ferries, train station, shops, bars & restaurants.
(Access is via stairs so may not be suitable for people with poor mobility).
We have just spent 19 days in the apartment and are already looking forward to our return in September.

We have just returned home following our second visit this year.The apartment is ideally located to explore the cobbled streets of Olhao and discover the many gems that are located within. The sun terraces are very comfortable, well equipped, with wonderful views.Mars Algarve are a helpful, friendly and accommodating company, nothing is too much trouble, help is available throughout the duration of the stay and constructive feedback is invited.We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Alle wichtigen Orte wie z.B. der Bahnhof, die Fähre und auch die Markthallen sind super schnell zu erreichen. Die Wohnung ist mit allem notwendigen Dingen für den Alltag ausgestattet.
