A fabulous 2 bedroom townhouse right in the old town of Olhao, oozes character but with modern furnishing and facilities. The townhouse offers living accommodation all on ground floor level with an enclosed rear yard and access to a wonderful roof terrace with views over the rooftops of Olhao. Facilities include, wifi, air conditioning and a bbq.

Casa Amarela is a sympathetically renovated 2 bedroom townhouse on one level with a private and enclosed backyard and decked roof terrace. Located right in the heart of Old Olhao the house is perfectly located for access to the beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants. Fitted with modern appliances to include WIFI and air conditioning was Amarela offers a taste of old Olhao but with modern comforts. 

 

Entrance

A modern front door but in a traditional style leads from the small quiet street into a traditional long hallway, almost the length of the house.  The living space is located to the rear of the 2 bedroom house and the bedrooms are to the front of the house on the left of the hallway. 

 

Living Space

In this very traditional 2 bedroom house the living space is at the rear of the long and slim property. The hallways opens out into a really pleasant living area with a modern grey fabric sofa facing a smart white television unit and a flat screen television with Smart facilities. Moroccan rugs give a real feel of the Moorish backgrounds of Olhao. 

Pictures enhance the white washed walls and traditional arched ceilings and scatter cushion add colour and vibrancy to the simple yet comfortable furnishings. 

From the living space are doors leading to the modern bathroom and smart fitted kitchen and at the end of the 2 bedroom house living space is a door leading to the secluded private backyard that makes for a wonderful sun trap. 

 

Kitchen

Located at the back of this 2 bedroom house the kitchen is in a perfect location for easy cooking, dining and holiday living. The kitchen has been completely renovated to offer modern and very up to date facilities for this wonderful 2 bedroom holiday home. 

A door that leads from the living space gives access to the kitchen and you will find the walls have been tiled in smart neat great tiles but the floor has been kept with traditional Santa Caterina handmade tiles, in turn mixing beautifully old with new. 

A selection on light grey fitted kitchen units are places around two walls giving plenty of storage space for all the kitchen utensils, pots, pans, serving dishes, glasses, cups, plates and many more items you would expect to find in a normal family kitchen.

The kitchens is equipped with a full size fridge freezer, dishwasher a 4 ring electric hob and oven with an overhead extractor all is modern chrome styling. A microwave, toaster, kettle and capsule coffee machine. 

In the kitchen is also a small breakfast table and chairs. 

 

Bedroom and Bathrooms

Our 2 bedroom house offers comfortable sleeping arrangements all on one level. Both bedrooms have air conditioning the works well to keep the rooms cool in summer but also fabulous for a little warmth in the cooler winter months. 

The master bedroom is at the front of the house with dual aspect double glazed windows overlooking the traditional small street outside. The door to the bedroom is first on the left as you enter the 2 bedroom house. A pleasant sized room with a kingsize white wrought iron bed with a comfortable mattress. Each side of the bed is bright white beds tables with matching lamps.  The room also offers a chair and a small area to hang and store clothes. 

The second bedroom is in the centre of the 2 bedroom house and offers 2 single beds. In the centre is a table with a lamp. The bedroom also has a chairs and some small clothes storage. Each bedroom has amazing typically Portuguese arched high ceilings. 

The bathroom is completely refitted for 2019 and is modern and functional but with a touch a class and style. Traditional Santa Catarina tiles are laid on the floor and the walls are designed with light beige large easy to clean tiles and the shower has contrasting white, grey black and brown mosaic style tiles. 

From the living room a door leads to the bathroom and you will find it fitted with a walk in shower with glass walls, toilet and basin set in a smart unit with cupboard space below. 

 

Private Terraces

Casa Amarela offers 2 different outside spaces to enjoy. At ground floor level and leading from the living room a door gives access to a superb enclosed, secluded and private backyard. There is a pedestrian access from the street but this door is kept locked and only for residents if they wish.  

Directly from the living room a tiled and wooden roof offers a great shady spot for when the sun is high and makes a lovely place to sit and enjoy some al fresco living. 

Beyond is an open space to enjoy the sunshine and we have provided an bbq for those wonderful fish sardines the Olhao people simply love to cook for lunch. 

A huge outside wooden dining table and chairs offer various living choices for our guests and can be moved to be in the shade or out in the wonderful sunshine with great ease. 

Old style tiled steps with a traditional small wall enclosing the steps and decorative finishes lead up to a roof terrace that has been decked. Here again is a tranquil spot to enjoy the sunshine and spend lazy hours looking over the many and varied rooftops of Cubist Olhao, many of which artists have enjoyed to paint and draw due to the undulating landscape they produce from being all shapes, height and sizes. 

More often than not these super Olhao townhouses best features are the wonderful outside spaces. Simply designed for the more mild climate of the Algarve.

Casa Amarela is a wonderful and simple but smartly renovated 2 bedroom house that offers comfortable living whilst keeping the old features of the space. Each room offers air conditioning that works as either cool or warm depending on the time of your you choose to visit. Excellent wifi keeps you in touch with the modern world and both the kitchen and bathroom have been renovated to a high standard for 2019. 

The 2 bedroom house is in an excellent location to make the most of Olhao being very central and close to all amenities. Many neighbours are born and bred in Olhao so you really get a taste of this wonderful and diverse old fishing Town. 

Our lovely 2 bedroom house comes with its own manual that you can download to your tablet or smart phone. Packed full of information to make the best of your holiday starting from the moment you arrive. It tells you how to collect the keys, who will look after you during your stay and clear concise directions to Casa Amarela. Then it is packed full with details of the best restaurants, taxis and local amenities and activities.

Booking your Holiday

 

To secure your holiday home with us, we ask for a deposit payment of 20% of the holiday price within 24 hours of the booking. As soon as that payment is made we will send an e mail asking for your full details and travel details.

One month before your holiday starts we will send you a reminder e mail asking for the final payment for your holiday home.

We ask for a damage bond of €200 this is payable on arrival at your holiday home either by cash or provision of credit cards details.

Methods of payment

On the payment page you will find four tabs.

Tab 1 Euro bank details, this is for you to be able to make a bank transfer. This is not automated. Please use the bank details given within your bank account to make the transfer and send a confirmation slip giving the booking reference

Tab 2   Within our website we have a secure payment method for card payments. Please sue this tab if you wish to pay by card.

Tab 3 UK Bank Transfer.   We are able to utilise a UK bank account if preferred. Before payment please ask for a Euro/sterling conversions price. 

Tab 4 If you prefer Paypal we have a direct link for you to be able to use this method of payment.

Arrival Day

We set the arrival time at your holiday home to be any time after 1600.   This is to allow us time to prepare the holiday home for you. We are extremely flexible in that we will try and prepare the holiday home to coincide with your flight arrival time. But we can not guarantee this will happen. We are also happy to allow you leave baggage at the holiday home whilst the property is being prepared allowing you to get the most out of your holiday. 

We ask that you carefully read the holiday home manual we will send you before the start of your holiday, as this contains all the contact information of the Manager who will be meeting you and looking after you during your holiday. 

Our Manager will be expecting a telephone call from you on arrival day. The Manager will only attend the property after that phone call in readiness to meet you.   We do not have a reception and each guest is met personally. If we have more than one client at once arriving we will let you know and ask that maybe you give us a little time. Maybe pop for a coffee and we can call you when we are ready to meet you. Our Manager will like to spend some time with you explaining how appliances work in the holiday home and let you know about the local area and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.  

 

Departure Day

We set the departure time at 1000. We ask for your departure details or plans once you leave us. This way we can schedule our holiday home preparation for the next guest just like we did for you. If we can offer a later stay during the winter months we will try and accommodate you.   In the Summer months due to the high volume of guests we have to strictly adhere to the 1000 departure time at the latest.

 

Our "All important" Welcome book

Before the start of your holiday we will send you our online Guest Welcome Book which is packed with everything you need to know about your holiday Home and the local area.

The book gives you all of the meeting arrangements, directions and how to get the keys. 

We have tried to give you a real insight and help you to plan your holiday before you even arrive. 

Our online Guest book is compatible with smart phones and tablets meaning you can take the guest book with you where ever you go to maximise your holiday experience. 

During your holiday if you find places not in the book you would like to recommend to future guests please do let us know and we would love to add them to our book.   The idea is to offer a great book that guests find useful.

Equipment hire for children and babies

We can hire a variety of items for your holiday home. Please book any items your require during the booking process. Paymnet will be locally in cash please. 

We offer the following,

Camp beds suitable for children up to 12 years €5 per night

Travel cots and mattress (No linen provided, please be sure to bring your own) €5 per night

High chairs €5 per night.

 

Bicycle Hire

We have an arrangement with a superb local Bike Hire Company and can arrange for bicycles to be delivered to your holiday home either before your holiday starts or during you holiday.    We can also arrange for the bikes to be collected. Car Hire

We can take the stress out of car hire for you by booking in advance for you.    We have chosen a small local Company to supply our hire cars. They will be at the Airport to meet you personally rather than you having to find a shuttle bus to the larger hire car Companies or waiting in huge queues with a horrible and impersonal service. 

We can also arrange hire of scooters for you.    They can be delivered at your holiday home and collects after your holiday is over.

Airport Transfers

We have used the same local Company, Big Eye Tours since its inception 3 years ago. Run by a brother and sister team and born and bred in Olhao they have built a super reliable and excellent Airport transfer service and we are proud to be connected with them. 

Please ask for a quote and we will arrange the transfers via our Company login to their site.    This means there will be no waiting around at the Airport as the driver will be in Arrivals waiting for you. There will be no trying the explain the location of your holiday home as the driver will already know where to go. The driver will even call our Managers in advance for you so they can be at the holiday home ready to meet you.
