Apartment Gato is a renovated 3 bedroom apartment set in an old building of 2 apartments. Apartment Gato being on the top floor. It offers a practical place to use as a base for a fabulous holiday in Olhao.

The Entrance into the building that houses our 2 bedroom apartment is situated just on a side road and gives access to Apartment Gato and one other ground floor apartment. A set of steps lead up to the 3 bedroom apartment Gato and a wooden front door open up into the 3 bedroom apartment. A long hallway give access to all the rooms.

Living space

As you enter our Town Centre 3 bedroom apartment straight ahead leads you into the living room. Styled with a comfortable leather sofa ad 2 bucket style chairs surrounding a flat screen television that sits on a modern smoked glass unit. Also here you will find the WIFI box that gives internet throughout the whole apartment. A light wood coffee table sits between the sofas and chairs.

The living room is a wonderful dual aspect room giving lots of natural light and fabulous city views. Two sets of antique wooden french windows open inwards to the living room and allow the wonderful summer breeze to waft through the living room offering a little cool and pleasant air during those hot summer months. Both windows give a very small access to Juliet balconies and both have shutters to keep the 3 bedroom apartment cool whilst you are on the beach or sightseeing during the day.


The kitchen to our fabulous 3 bedroom apartment is located at the end of the hallway and to the rear of the apartment. The kitchen looks out on to a quiet traditional cobbled street.

This lovely large room offers a fully equipped galley style kitchen at one end of the room. We have made sure it offers everything anyone could need to be able to prepare fabulous holiday meals. You will find a full size fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The kitchen also has a hob and oven with an over head extractor. The eye level cupboards, drawers and lower kitchen units are stuffed full of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses cups and mugs.

Floor to ceiling antique style french windows open on to a small terrace that looks down to a quiet cobbled street and here you will find the washing machine and places to dry clothes.

The windows again let in an abundance of natural light and bring the sights and sounds of our wonderful Olhao in to your kitchen.

The kitchen room doubles up as a diner and a wonderful huge wooden table with 6 chairs dominates the room. This makes for a great room to enjoy some family or friends socialising. This kitchen diner is a great family room with lots of light and a nice quiet spot with a balcony along the length of the room. Behind the dining table is also another set of french windows making 3 sets in this room.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

This superb 3 bedroom apartment makes for a great holiday home as 3 bedroom apartments are in demand.

The first bedroom is to the right as you enter the apartment and offers a good size double bed. Beautifully renovated with cream walls and cool floor tiles. A set of wooden antique french style windows give access to a small Juliet balcony over looking a quiet cobbled street and great to let in some cool air in the summer months. Delicate cream and brown voile style curtain dress the window. Each side of the bed is pine rustic bedside units with storage and bed side lamps for your comfort.

The second bedroom is to the left as you enter the apartment and is the largest room with a large kingsize bed. In keeping with the light feel of the apartment and pleasant fabric headboard in a taupe colour brigs some style and comfort. Each side of the bed is bedside units each with a lamp with light green shades to add a touch of colour. Wooden inward opening french windows allow access to a small Juliet balcony with views
across the city. the windows also offer plenty of light and cool air in the summer months. Shutters offer full darkness at night and also if kept down during the day will help keep the apartment nice and cool. A cream and light pine free standing wardrobe give some extra space to store clothes.

The third bedroom offers 2 wrought iron single beds with a nice wooden pine bedside unit in the centre with a lamp for reading. This bedroom also offers those fabulous french windows with the little Juliet balcony overlooking the Town. The windows are dressed with white and green voile style curtains to give a touch of style and warmth to the decor.

Towards the rear of the 3 bedroom partmnet is two bathrooms.

A good size family bathroom offers a modern shower cubicle, toilet bidet and basin and white ceramic with elegant white a gold colour taps. A large mirror hangs above the basin. Fully tiled in Portuguese style tiles the room is clean and functional.

The smaller second bathroom is equipped with a walk in shower, toilet and basin with a mirror over head. Tiled with modern white large tiles and mosaic golden brown tiles giving a touch of richness to the room.

Private Terrace

Within the 3 bedroom apartment there are small Juliet balconies. Along the length of the kitchen diner is a terrace that can be accessed from 2 set of doors and offers a pleasant cool place to sit. It also houses the washing machine and boiler for the apartment. The terrace is also a great place to dry the washing. This terrace overlooks a nice quite cobbled street and a typical Portuguese coffee shop.

From the communal stairs a set of stairs lead to the private roof terrace. Accessed only by a locked door so solely for the use of our guests at Apartment Gato.
A wooden structure offers a place to sit and enjoy the warm Algarve sunshine. A table and chairs offer a great place for some al fresco dining whilst over looking the City centre. We have also placed a BBQ on the terrace so you can enjoy some typical Portuguese fresh fish and local produce.
The terrace offers great views over the Cubist Town of Olhao with all its wonderful rooftops and look outs.


Apartment Gato, our super 3 bedroom apartment offers pleasant and spacious accommodation and 3 good size bedrooms. Situated in the heart of Olhao and near the boats for the beaches it makes a great place for a holiday base without the need to hire a car. A short walk takes you down to the sea front gardens and in turn a pleasant and fat walk to the daily fish and produce markets. An interesting walk through the old town will allow easy access to both the train and bus stations.

Apartment Gato has great WIFI and offers some European tv channels. The kitchen is well equipped and the 3 bedroom apartments is well furnished and comfortable.

Our lovely 3 bedroom apartment comes with its own manual that you can download to your tablet or smart phone. Packed full of information to make the best of your holiday starting from the moment you arrive. It tells you how to collect the keys, who will look after you during your stay and clear concise directions to Apartment Gato. Then it is packed full with details of the best restaurants, taxis and local amenities and activities.

And of course our managers are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more if you need any advice or tips on the local area they will be more than happy to help.

Booking your Holiday

To secure your holiday home with us, we ask for a deposit payment of 20% of the holiday price within 24 hours of the booking. As soon as that payment is made we will send an e mail asking for your full details and travel details.

30 days before your holiday starts we will send you a reminder e mail asking for the final payment for your holiday home.

Damages Protection

Marslgarve LDA operates a Breakages insurance scheme for any accidental damages and breakages during your stay with us.

The non-refundable Damage Protection Fee of €10 per guest protects you from being charged for accidental property damage that may occur during your stay with us. Cover is up to the value of €500. All we ask is that you treat our homes with repsect and should any accidental damage occur you inform us immediately by contacting us at

On the payment page you will find two tabs.

Tab 1 Euro bank details, this is for you to be able to make a bank transfer. This is not automated. Please use the bank details given within your bank account to make the transfer and send a confirmation slip giving the booking reference

Tab 2  Within our website we have a secure payment method for card payments. Please use this tab if you wish to pay by card.

Arrival Day

We set the arrival time at your holiday home to be any time after 1600.  This is to allow us time to prepare the holiday home for you. We are extremely flexible in that we will try and prepare the holiday home to coincide with your flight arrival time. But we can not guarantee this will happen. We are also happy to allow you leave baggage at the holiday home whilst the property is being prepared allowing you to get the most out of your holiday. 

We ask that you carefully read the holiday home manual we will send you before the start of your holiday, as this contains all the contact information of the Manager who will be meeting you and looking after you during your holiday. 

Our Manager will be expecting a telephone call from you on arrival day. The Manager will only attend the property after that phone call in readiness to meet you.  We do not have a reception and each guest is met personally. If we have more than one client at once arriving we will let you know and ask that maybe you give us a little time. Maybe pop for a coffee and we can call you when we are ready to meet you. Our Manager will like to spend some time with you explaining how appliances work in the holiday home and let you know about the local area and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.  


Departure Day

We set the departure time at 1000. We ask for your departure details or plans once you leave us. This way we can schedule our holiday home preparation for the next guest just like we did for you. If we can offer a later stay during the winter months we will try and accommodate you.  In the Summer months due to the high volume of guests we have to strictly adhere to the 1000 departure time at the latest.


Our "All important" Welcome book

Before the start of your holiday we will send you our online Guest Welcome Book which is packed with everything you need to know about your holiday Home and the local area.

The book gives you all of the meeting arrangements, directions and how to get the keys. 

We have tried to give you a real insight and help you to plan your holiday before you even arrive. 

Our online Guest book is compatible with smart phones and tablets meaning you can take the guest book with you where ever you go to maximise your holiday experience. 

During your holiday if you find places not in the book you would like to recommend to future guests please do let us know and we would love to add them to our book.  The idea is to offer a great book that guests find useful.


Equipment Hire, Car Hire and Transfer Information


Equipment hire for children and babies

We can hire a variety of items for your holiday home. Please book any items your require during the booking process. 

We offer the following,

Camp beds suitable for children up to 12 years €5 per night

Travel cots and mattress  €5 per night

High chairs €5 per night.


Bicycle Hire

We have an arrangement with a superb local Bike Hire Company and can arrange for bicycles to be delivered to your holiday home either before your holiday starts or during you holiday.  We can also arrange for the bikes to be collected. Car Hire

We can take the stress out of car hire for you by booking in advance for you.  We have chosen a small local Company to supply our hire cars. They will be at the Airport to meet you personally rather than you having to find a shuttle bus to the larger hire car Companies or waiting in huge queues with a horrible and impersonal service. 

We can also arrange hire of scooters for you.  They can be delivered at your holiday home and collects after your holiday is over.

Airport Transfers

We use a fantastic local Company, Sunline Transfers. The Company has built a super reliable and excellent Airport transfer service and we are proud to be connected with them. 

Please ask for a quote and we will arrange the transfers via our Company login to their site.  This means there will be no waiting around at the Airport as the driver will be in Arrivals waiting for you. There will be no trying the explain the location of your holiday home as the driver will already know where to go. The driver will even call our Managers in advance for you so they can be at the holiday home ready to meet you.

Had a nice stay here for a few nights in Sept. Looks larger than the pictures and is in a great location with very clean rooms. Would be good for larger groups as we were only a couple. So close to everything in Olhão. Easy to talk to hosts and very informative.

Nous avons aimé le côté spacieux de l'appartement pour une cohabitation de 5 adultes. La localisation du logement dans le centre d'Olhao est également très appréciable. Le logement est bien équipé. Seul bémol, le niveau de sonorisation dans les lieux, la fermeture des portes intérieures étant quelque peu bruyante. Globalement, ce produit présente un bon rapport qualité-prix.
